Ethereal Grace

Writer: Karenina FabrizziKarenina Fabrizzi

This new series of portraits transcend boundaries of time, crafted through ancient techniques that have endured for centuries.

Using egg tempera, a medium favored by Renaissance masters, these works achieve a luminous, almost otherworldly presence.

Layer upon layer, delicate pigments are suspended in a yolk-based binder, allowing light to move within the surface rather than merely reflecting off it.

This method grants the paintings an inner radiance, as though they hold the echoes of history within their very essence.

Drawing inspiration from the meticulous craftsmanship of the Renaissance and the opulence of the Baroque, these portraits capture a presence that is both ethereal and deeply rooted in the past.

Figures emerge from the surface like visions suspended in time, their expressions imbued with a quiet intensity. Their gazes, soft yet profound, invite the viewer into a realm where the soul speaks in hushed tones, beyond the grasp of words.

The symbolic elements within the series reinforce this sense of transcendence.

Gold leaf glimmers like celestial light, whispering of divinity and spiritual illumination.

Silk ribbons weave through the compositions, their delicate folds evoking the sensuous elegance of Baroque drapery, adding a touch of movement and regal refinement.

Flowing fabrics, rich in texture, further echo the artistry of the past, embracing the figures in an embrace of history and emotion.

Each portrait is a meditation on beauty—not as a fleeting ideal but as an eternal presence woven into the fabric of existence.

The color palettes recall the softened grandeur of aged frescoes and gilded altarpieces, lending a timeless patina to the work. Subtle shifts in light and shadow create a rhythmic dance across the surface, suggesting both stillness and movement, presence and mystery.

More than mere portraiture, Ethereal Grace seeks to capture the intangible—the soul’s quiet glow, the weight of memory, the sacred interplay of light and being.

It is an invitation to pause, to reflect, and to recognize that true beauty is not just seen but felt, a presence that lingers beyond the confines of time. is a series of portraits that transcend the boundaries of time, crafted through ancient techniques that have endured for centuries.
